In object-oriented systems, collections of interlinked objects work together towards achieving some goal. The aim of this paper is to introduce and deene a formal semantics of a suite of composition operators for specifying object interactions. Composition operators are speciied using a modular parametric approach which highlights the generality of such operators. Composition frameworks that capture the common features of operators use speciication fragments to form diierent composition operators. The fragments may also be used in the speciication of multiple operators, highlighting such operators' similarities.
